DAY 30- SELFIES

Day 29- Christmas Trees

Today we sold christmas trees at Wheasfield Co-op in Ames. It was a pretty successful day and I have pictures of two contrasting trees.

Here is the fattest one leaning against the building not suprising ly this one wasn't sold

Here is ma smaller one with a gap in the side. 2 minutes after we commented on the likability of it, it was sold. :)

Thanksgiving dinner

Today was obviously thanksgiving and we had dinner.  The pictures are one of my plate and the traditional "green stuff" also known as pistachio salad with the obligatory cherry on top.

Day 27- Curious Maizy

Here is Maizy looking curiously to the left. I thought these pictures looked good in black and white because she is too.

Here Maizy is more posed with her left leg in the air. I thought this one was kind of funny.

Day 26- Fowl Weather (hahaha)

Mystery Picture Day! I personally think this ones kind of obvious oh.

Here is the goose tramping around in the cold snow. If I were him I'd ask for some warm fur goose booties for Christmas.

Day 25- Potstickers

Today Potstickers are part of our dinner but I don't know what they taste like because while writing this they are still being prepared.

Day 24- Slightly Funny Cats

At first it doesnt look that funny... until you realize she's sitting on a Dehyderator

Day 23-Fall & Winter

Here is the first example of the merge of Fall and Winter. This tree still has lots of leaves on but there is also a lot of snow in the backround. I thought this picture looked good with the "Sepia" effect.

Here is what the ground looks like all round these parts. A nice crunchy layer of leaves with some crisp soft snow to top is off. Yum!

Day 22-Cool Icicles

These were hanging from a former mystery picture spot but in a different state of matter. Ice!

I didnt realize these were the exact same two pictures I took for Day 5- Wet but now  in the solid state. They still look good!

Day 21- Pairs

Heres a perfect picture of the two cats just hangin out on the new deck, soaking in the last bits of sunshine for the day.

The mini spruce trees also enjoying the sunshine but actually putting it to use during photosynthesis.

Day 20- Dogs Looking at Cats Hungrily

Here is Maizy Looking under the car at the cat Ora.  Notice the perfect hunting posture gained from many years of eating out of a dog dish.  The answer to yesterday's Mystery Picture is an old lightning rod from the top of our barn, currently it is in the center of the laberyinth in the pasture. 

Another action shot of Daisy looking at Ora just as she slips into the opening where the dogs can't get to.

Day 19- Weather

Day 18-Sunset

Today I got a late start on he pictures and it was almost dark!  Then I decided that the sunset is a good thing to take pictures of.

This is a picture of the field across the road with a sunset behind it. It looks a lot weirder on the computer than on the camera.

This is a picture of the first star in the sky this evening.

Day 17- Sheep to Chops

Today the sheep were taken to be turned into lamb chops. The first one is them In the trailer The second is waiting for tomorrow morning when the transformation will begin. 

Day 16- Impossible Lighting in the Sky

Today's pictures are cool clouds in the sky. This one looks like marshmallow mountain. 

I dont really know what this looks like buts its intresting!

Heres the amazing part, This is how dark it was the whole time I was taking this. Amazing!

Day 15-Halfway Done

Today for the halfway mark i decided to retake the the Day 1 pics  (link over there)---------->

I hadnt realized how many leaves have left but here is photographed proof.

Here, again is Fort Bent Nail looking quite bare except for the barely visible blue snack bucket which has remarkably been untouched by the raccoons for months.

Day 14- What Fall Does

This is a picture of a trumpet vine on the trellis in the garden. There are still a few seed pods left on it.

This is a picture of our old apple tree being supported by man made structures. Suprisingly its is still going strong.  

Day 13- Cats

Thanks again for the great turnout of comments for the mystery picture (wink wink).  It was in fact an old fashion grain grinder sitting in the shed.  Break out the elbow grease!  This first picture is Steve (the grey one) and Ora hangong out the patio/where our garage used to be.

This is Ora getting up close and personal on my right knee.

Day 12- Farming Stuff

This is the second weekly mystery picture. I know from last weeks great turnout of comments (cough cough) there will be a lot more this week.

This is a picture of our  barn with daisy romping in front of it.  I dont try to take pictures of her but she seems to get in all of them. Oh well, at least she's cute!

Day 11- Daisy in the Snow

Today it SNOWED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Since Daisy was outside with me today and getting in all my shots i decided it to be of her instead. She loves snow and Winter more than anything (except for the yellow ball).  The pictures are blurry because she was in constant sprinting mode for the whole time she was outside.

This is a picture of daisy running around the deck of our house enjoying the Fall (Winter ?) weather.

Although it looks like Daisy is taking an epic wipeout/face slide she is actually performing the perdectly executed beginning of the "wiggle on the ground move".

Day 10- Sky/Cloud pictures

The first picture is of some semi-cool clouds this evening.  I thought they looked like giant white pieces of bacon slowly dissolving in the sky.

Believe it or not these pictures were taken literally within 5 minutes of each other.  I know I already took pictures of the sun but there were clouds prominent in this one.

Day 9- Animals in the Bush

Today's topic is animals in the bush.  This first picture is of my cat steve hiding in thee bush.  I later got the next picture in the exact same bush.

The second picture is of my dog Daisy in the same bush.  What you don't get from the picture is that she is actually looking intently at my other cat Ora

Day 8- Chickens

Today's topic was chickens.  I "found" this one sitting in the tree.  I didnt seem to be moving.  I don't what's wrong with it.

This chicken seemed to be alive and well but it seemed a little flustered from the high wind speeds unlike the other chicken.

Day 7- Sun Shots

Todays photos are evening shots of the sun.  This first one is the sun with the previously mentioned bell (only this time its dry).  I think its intresting how cameras capture the sun's rays.

This pic is the sun shining over the bottom halfs of a few 90 year old spruces that broke off in a storm a couple of years ago.

Day 6- Iowa State Game

Tonight we were at the Iowa State women's basketball game. First off the answer of yesterdays post was the pergola top of our deck with water drops hanging off. The first picture is the video board before the game. The second one is the teams getting ready for a free throw. Second row season tickets baby!
